If you’re reading this, congratulations! You’ve found the collective logs and journal entries of Nethan Montari, as well as a few snippets I managed to get my hands on from my various travelling companions. First, allow me to introduce myself. I am an adept from [REDACTED], and while most would consider me to be a Thief, the truth is the treasures I seek go beyond mere material possessions. Gold is the lubricant that greases the wheels of civilizations, but secrets are the power that fuel them forward. As such, I protect my own as well as I can, and ferret out those of others. Some are best kept secret, because what use is a secret if everyone knows. Many sections of these notes are redacted to keep certain things secret past even my passing, my gift to those that follow in my footsteps. Still, the clues are there for the truly dedicated to decipher what really happened. Some of my colleagues wrote in much less oblique ways about these things, but many of them lack the information I’ve gathered to put it all in proper perspective.
I’ve also redacted some random sections with meaningless minutiae behind it. Because I wouldn’t want you to get bored, dear reader.
So, on to the meat of the affair, the grand tale I have to tell, the Legend of Nethan Montari, as a more arrogant thief might put it, but to be honest, there is no way I can claim all of the credit for things I was involved in.
