We made friendly contact with Orks. Tentative alliance established and our services needed for a rescue. Ork tribal politics involved, details unimportant. Ended up fighting bog gobs and Namegivers.
Elementalism appears to have some very useful spells. Danger of cavalry charge clearly established. Proficiency with Spirit Dart and body count increasing. Troll has irrational attachment to the importance of who struck the final blow on an enemy. Considerable loot and the captive recovered.
On reflection my fellow magicians are comparatively timid. Despite the fact that our spells were short ranged and that I was not even attacked, the Elementalist and to a lesser degree the Wizard hung well back. Perhaps they prefer not to see death up close.
Death simply is. Tear the flesh, disrupt the pattern and life ends. The details of the cause of death vary, but death remains the same. A transition state where corporeal existence ends and existence on the Netherworlds begins. It is a resource of considerable mystical power.
